We’re thrilled to announce that the Ocean Census will be featured in the latest series of Deadly 60 with Steve Backshall!

In this exciting episode, Steve embarks on an incredible journey into the deep sea, using the most advanced technology ever showcased on Deadly 60.

Joining our Ocean Census expedition team in Tenerife, Steve, alongside team members Scott and Alfredo, ventured down to an impressive depth of 238 metres in a state-of-the-art submarine. During this dive, they collected invaluable samples and recorded videos, contributing to our growing understanding of deep-sea biodiversity.

In addition to the submarine dive, Steve attended our taxonomic workshop at the Instituto Español de Oceanografía, where the team carefully examined some of the fascinating samples gathered during the expedition. This hands-on experience highlights the critical importance of species discovery and deep-sea research.

We’re especially excited for younger ocean enthusiasts to explore the wonders of the Ocean Census and gain a deeper appreciation for our expeditions and the vital role of biodiversity in preserving our planet. 🌍🔍
