Taxonomic Remarks
Article 2 of the antennula has a posterior distal lobe, not seen in other species of Serolina. Serolina MoV7417 is also characterised by almost the complete absence of dorsal ornamentation on the head apart from a pair of obscure tranverse ridges. The most similar in this regard is S. granularia where the head ornamentation is more obvious, the pereonites and pleotelson have sublateral tubercles and the uropod endopod is broader. Another similar species is S. kawina but coxal dorsal plate 6 overlaps epimera 2 and 3 in this species.Interim diagnosis. Female 1.29 times as long as wide. Head without posterior lobe; middorsal crests scarcely visible in lateral view; pereonites 1–6 without sublateral ridges or tubercles, pereonites without submedial tubercles along posterior margins. Coxal dorsal plate margins contiguous; 6 narrow and acute, overlapping pleonal epimeron 2, disrupting continuity of lateral margin. Pleonal epimera 2 and 3 broad, with acute apex, separate from coxal plate margins. Pleotelson 1 times as long as wide, without dorsolateral ridges. Uropodal exopod scarcely shorter than endopod, apex truncate.
