Taxonomic Remarks

Serolina MoV7415 and S. MoV7416 share a prominent flat triangular crest on the head. The crest on the head is defined laterally by a pair of sharp ridges converging and meeting posteriorly. Serolina MoV7416 differs from S. MoV7416 in having dorsal pereonal ornamention in adults, the pleotelson more triangular, and tapering and relatively longer uropods. Serolina MoV7416 differs from other species in that larger males are widest at the posterior margin of pereonite 5 and appear to be narrower anteriorly, and females appear more “parallel-sided” than typical with pereonite 1 almost as wide as pereonites 2–4. Interim diagnosis. Female 1.25 times as long as wide; male 1.05 times as long as wide. Head with 3 tubercles, medial one smaller, flatter than lateral pair; middorsal crests scarcely visible in lateral view; pereonites 1–6 of ovigerous with sublateral tubercles; or male without sublateral tubercles, pereonites 2, 3 of ovigerous female each with submedial tubercle; of male without submedial tubercle. Coxal dorsal plate margins 1–6 marginally contiguous except slight notch between plates 4 and 6; 6 broad and obtuse, overlapping pleonal epimeron 2. Pleonal epimera 2 and 3 truncate, with slight posterior angle. Pleotelson 0.8 times as long as wide, without dorsolateral ridges. Uropodal exopod scarcely shorter than endopod, apex rounded.
