Taxonomic Remarks

Serolina MoV7413 is notable for the exceptionly long tapered pleotelson, 0.38 (female), 0.35 (male) times as long as total body length and 1.2 times as long as wide. All other species of Serolina have a pleotelson wider than long. The uropodal exopod is little more than half as long as the endopod. Interim diagnosis. Female 1.5 times as long as wide; male 1.23 times as long as wide. Head with medial lobe only; middorsal crests visible in lateral view; pereonites 2–6 with sublateral tubercles, pereonites without submedial tubercles along posterior margins. Coxal dorsal plate margins contiguous; 6 broad and obtuse, not reaching apex of pleonal epimeron 2, scarcely disrupting continuity of lateral margin. Pleonal epimera 2 and 3 broad, with acute apex, continuing coxal plates 1–6 series. Pleotelson 1.2 times as long as wide, without dorsolateral ridges. Uropodal exopod much shorter than endopod, apex crenellate.
