Taxonomic Remarks
This species differs from Mitrella neocaledonica Monsecour & Monsecour, 2016 by its less elegant, smaller shell, lower number of protoconch whorls, the different denticulation on the inside of the outer lip and the raised parietal callus. It differs from Mitrella minisipho Monsecour & Monsecour, 2016 by its less elegant shell form, its lower number of teleoconch whorls, the absence of very fine axial lines and the lack of a thickened rim on the inside of the outer lip. It differs from Mitrella trivialis Monsecour & Monsecour, 2016 by its incised suture, the absence of denticles on the inside of the outer lip and the absence of denticles on the columella.

Description of Material
Shell of moderate size for the genus, adult size up to 5 mm; fusifom, elongate. Whorls slightly rounded. Suture slightly insiced. Protoconch paucispiral, consisting of about 1.4 smooth whorls. Transition to teleoconch very weak. Teleoconch consisting of about 3.7 whorls. Axial sculpture absent. Spiral sculpture absent, apart from the basal cords. There is virtually a subsutural spiral band, but this is thicker shell structure from the inside shining through. Basal cords clearly present and reaching to just above the adapical end of the columella. Aperture average width for the genus, about 45% of shell height. Outside of outer lip with a weak axial rib, with the continuation of the basal cords on the abapical end. Inside of outer lip without a clear sinus and without denticles, apart from one on the abapical side on demarkating the edge of the siphonal canal. Columellar callus clearly present, slightly raised, without denticulation. Parietal callus clearly present. Siphonal canal short, open, slightly recurved. Teleoconch whorls and aperture slightly translucent white. columella white. Protoconch slightly translucent white. Height of holotype: 4.8 mm
Ecology
Direct developing species with paucispiral protoconch, so non planctotrophic larvae. Most likely endemic.
