This species is closest to A. limula. It differs in the more straight axial sculpture, wider and less elongate aperture, different denticulation on the inside of the outer lip and the much weaker columellar callus, which is not raised.

Description of Material
Shell of small size for the genus, adult size up to 4.4mm; fusifom, elongate. Slightly rounded whorls. Semi-translucent. Suture slightly impressed. Protoconch paucispiral, consisting of about 1.3 smooth whorls. Transition to teleoconch weakly visible. Teleoconch consisting of about 4.0 whorls. Axial sculpture on all whorls, consisting of axial ribs with interspaces slightly wider than the width of the ribs. There are 13 ribs on the first teleoconch whorl and 10-11 ribs on the later whorls. The last axial rib close to the aperture is stronger. Spiral sculpture apart from the basal cords looks absent, but on the last whorl some very weak spiral cords are present. The basal cords are clearly present and reach to just below the adapical edge of the columella. Aperture average width for the genus, about 44% of shell height. Outside of outer lip with continuation of the spiral sculpture. Inside of outer lip without a clear sinus and with four clear denticles and one very week middle denticle. Columellar callus rather thin, without denticulation. Parietal callus very weak. Siphonal canal short, open, slightly recurved. Teleoconch whorls white to off-white. Inside of aperture, columella and protoconch all white. Height of holotype: 4.4 mm
Ecology
Direct developing species with paucispiral protoconch, so non planctotrophic larvae. Most likely endemic.
