Taxonomic Remarks

This species has very thin, translucent shell plates. The upper latus has a medial umbone placing it in the genus Planoscalpellum but the interlocking nature of the three lower lateral plates is unique within the genus and suggests an affinity with Pilsbryscalpellum and some Annandaleum species.
