Taxonomic Remarks

This species may belong in one of the several “stout-bodied” typhlotanaid genera recently established (largely on NE Atlantic/Icelandic species) but the species is recognisable at least among NZ species by the body shape combined with the characteristic long seta on the pereopod-1 coxa. More work is required to establish its true taxonomic position.
