Description of Material
A typical Stenotanais – small, thin, with long (usually deflexed and oar-like) uropods, and a stout cheliped carpus with a deep ventrodistal shield. More usually encountered in core-samples because of its size, morphology, and probable tubicoly.
Ecology
Benthic species, probably a shallow burrower in soft sediment.
Distribution
Bounty Trough, 2555 m, TAN2402 Stn 106. Also, from the Bay of Plenty to the Great South Basin, 670-1370 m.
