Taxonomic Remarks

The general morphology of Promesostoma sp.2 highly resembles that of P. bilobatum, a species described from the North Wester Atlantic (Canada). However, the stylet of Promesostoma sp.2 (155 µm) is much shorter than that of P. bilobatum (210 µm). The distal part of the stylet of Promesostoma sp.2 is distinctly broad, spoon shaped, whereas it shows one wing-shaped structure on each side in P. bilobatum.
