Taxonomic Remarks
Brinkmanniella sp.2 is comparable with other species of Brinkmanniella bearing a straight stylet and without distal spines or ‘fingers’: B. australiensis, B. simplex, and B. tenebrosa. At its name indicated, B. tenebrosa has a remarkable black pigmentation, which is not present in Brinkmanniella sp.2. The other two species, B. australiensis and B. simplex present a stylet with a proximal funnel-shaped part, which lacks is Brinkmanniella sp.2.

Description of Material
Species of Brinkmanniella with eyes and yellowish colouration because of the of the parenchymal glands colour. The stylet is straight, tubular, slightly tapering to a broad distal end, 54–61 µm long (x¯ = 58 µm; n = 2).

Red and green filamentous algae, 0.5 m deep, salinity 35 ‰.
