Taxonomic Remarks

Serolina MoV7415 is recognised by the prominent flat triangular crest on the head combined with scarce marginal differentiation between posterior coxal plates 5 and 6 and pleonal epimera 1 and 2. The crest on the head is defined laterally by a pair of sharp ridges converging and meeting posteriorly. In these features it is similar to S. MoV7416 but differs in having the pleotelson shorter than wide (as long as wide in S. MoV7416) and relatively longer uropods (less than half pleotelson lateral margin in S. MoV7416). Interim diagnosis. Female 1.4 times as long as wide; male 1.3 times as long as wide. Head with prominent triangular crest, widest anteriorly, rounded posteriorly; middorsal crests scarcely visible in lateral view; pereonites 1–6 without sublateral ridges or tubercles, pereonites without submedial tubercles along posterior margins. Coxal dorsal plate margins contiguous; 6 broad and obtuse, not reaching apex of pleonal epimeron 2, scarcely disrupting continuity of lateral margin. Pleonal epimera 2 and 3 truncate, with slight posterior angle. Pleotelson 0.7 times as long as wide, without dorsolateral ridges. Uropodal exopod three-quarters length of endopod, apex rounded.
