Taxonomic Remarks

This taxon is characterised primarily by the cheliped attachment anterior on the cephalothorax ventrum. The uropods are stout with a very short exopod. A similar undescribed species has been recorded from the SE Australian Slope.

A small tanaellid with some aspects of the family Arthruridae.

Ecology

Benthic sediments, probably as a shallow burrower.

Distribution

Bounty Trough, 982 m, TAN2402 Stn 37. Also, from the Kaikoura Canyon, Chatham Rise (southern slope), and the Great South Basin, 1285-1586 m.
