Taxonomic Remarks

Molecular data based on the nuclear marker histone H3 indicate that Anarthruridae ICUL5408 is phylogenetically related to Crenicarpus and Waki. Morphologically, the species differs from memebres of both Crenicarpus and species of Waki in exhibiting a distinct crenulation along the dorsal margin of the chela. This feature is absent in representatives of Waki as well as in Crenicarpus. Additionally, it differs from Waki in lacking the expanded carpus of pereopods 4–6, a character typical of that genus.
