Taxonomic Remarks
Body shape and color resembles Diplomma serpentinum, a species globally distributed in the warm waters (Indo-West Pacific, Caribbean, Easter Tropical Pacific), but can be differentiated from it by the COI sequence data.

Description of Material
Body 25 mm long, 0.5 mm wide. Dorsally uniform chestnut red or mahogany, fading to orange ventrally. Cephalic lobe diamond shaped, slightly wider than adjacent body, separated from it by a prominent V-shaped dorsal neck furrow, with a translucent margin. A number of small reddish ocelli visible on anterior half of cephalic lobe, obscured by epidermal pigmentation. Cerebral organ furrows inconspicuous. Stylet characteristics not recorded.

Only known from Murrel’s Beach, Victoria, Australia.
