Taxonomic Remarks

Can be differentiated from several other undescribed local Diplomma spp. by color of its body and cerebral ganglia, the pattern of ocelli, as well as COI sequence data.

Description of Material

Body 25 mm long, 0.9 mm wide, uniform sandy brown to papaya orange, with a pale semitranslucent anterior margin. Cerebral ganglia pinkish, only show through body wall in some individuals, and not very clearly. Cephalic lobe same width as adjacent body, rounded or pointed, about twice as long as it is wide, not clearly separated from body (neck furrow indistinct). A pair of prominent transverse cerebral organ furrows found halfway between the anterior tip and cerebral ganglia. An irregular row of up to 12 ocelli along each side of head, the anterior-most pair considerably larger than the rest, extending from anterior tip to just anterior to cerebral ganglia. Stylet basis cylindrical, with a slight constriction in the middle, distally rounded. S/B =1. 2 accessory stylet sacs with 2-4 stylets each.
