Taxonomic Remarks
This species is closest to Z. gracilenta. It differs from this species by its smaller size, lower number of teleoconch whorls, wider less elongate shell form, higher number of weaker axial ribs, different denticulation on the inside of the outer lip and the color pattern.

Description of Material
Shell of average for the genus, adult size up to 3.5 mm; fusifom, elongate. Rather straight whorls. Suture slightly impressed. Protoconch paucispiral, consisting of about 1.6-1.7 smooth whorls.. Transition to teleoconch clearly visible. Teleoconch consisting of about 3.25 whorls. Axial sculpture clearly present on all whorls, consisting of close set axial ribs with narrow interspaces. Axial ribs on the first whorls, much stronger than the axial ribs on the later teleoconch whorls. There are 14 of these ribs on the first whorl, increasing to 19-20 on the penultimate whorl. Last whorl with strong ribs on the first part, but on the last 30% of this whorl these ribs become obsolete and disappear complete closer to the aperture. Spiral sculpture absent, apart from the basal cords, which ventrally range to about the adapical end of the columella. Aperture typical for the genus: narrow and rather elongate, about 49% of shell height. Outside of outer lip thickened, with the continuation of the basal cords on the abapical end. Inside of outer lip with a clear sinus on the adapical end and 6-7 denticles. The three adapical most denticles much stronger than the fourth denticle. More abapical denticles very weak or obsolete. Columellar callus clearly present, not raised, smooth. Parietal callus weak. Siphonal canal short, open, slightly recurved. First teleoconch whorls red-brown with a purplish subsutural band. On the penultimate whorl, this red brown fades and becomes much softer going over to whitish on the last whorl. The purplish subsutural band stays present up to the edge of the aperture. Basal cords yellowish-brown. Columella and aperture white on the adapical side, yellowish-brown on the abapical side. Protoconch red-brown. Height of holotype: 3.3 mm
Ecology
Direct developing species with paucispiral protoconch, so non planctotrophic larvae. Most likely endemic.
