Taxonomic Remarks
This species can easily be differentiated from all other New Caledonian Retizafra by its diminishing number of axial ribs from the first whorl towards the last whorl. Resulting in a last whorl with very clear axial ribs with wide interspaces.

Description of Material
Shell of small size for the genus, adult size up to 2.7 mm; fusifom with slightly shouldered whorls. Suture slightly impressed. Protoconch paucispiral, consisting of about 1.5 smooth whorls. Transition to teleoconch clearly visible. Teleoconch consisting of about 3.5 whorls. Axial sculpture of strong axial ribs on all whorls. About 18 ribs on the fist whorl, 15 on the second whorl and further decreasing to only 8 ribs on the last whorl. The last axial ribs close to the aperture are much weaker. Spiral sculpture absent on the first whorl, occuring very weak during the second whorl becoming clearly visible further down the shell. This spiral sculpture consists of weak flat spiral cords with very narrow interspaces, which overrun the axial ribs. There are about 6of these cords on the second whorl. On the last whorl there are about 17 of the cords,, which go abapically over in the stronger basal cords. Basal cords ventrally ranging to just below the adapical end of the columella. Aperture average width for the genus, about 42% of shell height. Outside of outer lip slightly thickened with continuation of the spiral sculpture and basal cords. Inside of outer lip with a very weak sinus on the adapical end and 6 very weak denticles. Columellar callus thick, slightly raised, with a weak rim on the abapical side. Parietal callus clearly present. Siphonal canal short, open, slighly recurved. Teleoconch and aperture completely semi-translucent white. Columella and parietal callus white. Protoconch white. Height of holotype: 2.7 mm
Ecology
Direct developing species with paucispiral protoconch, so non planctotrophic larvae. Most likely endemic.
